Man has tried but failed at evolving a perfect system of government, even the religious systems are faulty. In our opening scripture, Jesus is describing how the kingdom of God or God's government influences our lives. God's government runs at the highest intelligence frequency. It is driven by the highest form of power which is by far superior to any man made system therefore it cannot fail. When Jesus came, He preached “Repent”, that is, do a “round about turn” from the world's way of doing things and live according to God's system of government.

Jesus used several parables to paint a clear picture of the kingdom of God. Running through all these parables is the keyword SEED. The seed is the major difference between God's kingdom and the statutes of man. Man has not and cannot successfully manufacture the seed. Every seed has in it the picture of the future; the DNA coding. The seed is a conversion point for intangible realities to become tangible. The seed controls the future, so anyone who has seeds today is the one holding the future. For example God put every human being (apart from Jesus) into the first man and named him Adam, meaning mankind.

Explaining the parable of the Sower, Jesus said the seed is the word of God which is planted in the soil of our hearts as information/revelation. Nobody has the power to cause a seed to germinate; God has already put that power in existence. The heart is the soil on which revelation grows, therefore guard the information seeds sown into your heart with all diligence, cultivating them until they bear fruits. How then do we get revelation? To access revelation we must pray, meditate on the word of God, listen to our prophets and give.

In summary, for us to create and live in the future God has designed for us, let us leverage on the power in the seed... God is omniscient and omnipotent, He knows everything and can do everything but God will not do for you what He has given you power to do for yourself. Where your ability stops is where God's ability begins but He will not do for you what you have the capacity to do. God made us in His image and deposited gifts and different abilities in us. He will not frustrate our potentials by doing for us what we can do for ourselves. In our country, we ask God to do lots of things for us, for example, build roads, generate power etc. God will not respond to these demands because He has provided for us water and gas to generate power and bitumen to build roads.

This state of mind of being helpless and transferring our responsibilities influences our attitude to government. The government is expected to do everything, but the reality is that the government cannot do everything the government cannot eat, breathe, sleep or write exams for us and even when roads are provided, the government will not drive our cars for us. It's our responsibility to do the most important things ourselves. Our inability to define clear lines of responsibility renders us helpless and powerless. Also the abdication of responsibility turns people into slaves.

The time has come for us, as Nigerians and Christians, to make a choice to believe that God has empowered us to fulfill destiny. The change will begin with having a God given revelation of who you are. We have more power than we realize and we can only receive this power through the truth found in God's words. As soon as we begin to see ourselves in the light of God's word, we develop a positive self image which influences our self esteem-making us feel good about ourselves. Self respect follows-we no longer tolerate low standards. Then self determination kicks in followed by self actualization.

Take the power God has given you! The only thing that can hold you down is ignorance. “My people perish for lack of knowledge”. Get an education. The key that unlocks the power embedded in us is self discipline. It takes discipline to move ahead. Read and develop plans to move forward. Set goals and act on them. Be persistent and become a problem solver. Associate with other people to create solutions for societal problems.

Let's cooperate to build a prosperous nation!.. The Christian faith is founded in the written word of God and it abides forever. In the early days, the Bible was the exclusive preserve of the clergy but thanks to several protests by the Protestants, the bible is now available for everybody to access. The bible should be used as a manual for living. In MATT 4:4, Jesus teaches that man must not live by bread alone rather man must depend on the word of God for existence. We ought to feed our spirit even better than we nourish our physical bodies.

Here in Daystar, the Word Works Wonders is not an advertising cliché; it's the core of our church. To maximize the power in the word of God, we have to pay attention to the word, give it first place and accept it as the final authority in our lives. Anything short of that then we are just playing church and soon enough the evidence of an ailing spirit, a spirit starved of the word of God, will manifest as sickness and lack in the physical. The word of God feeds, strengthens and empowers our spirit to overcome the wiles of the devil.

Get a firm grip on the word of God. His word is powerful, prophetic and carries creative ability. It is the surest foundation for life. There is no future in anything – jobs, relationships, location etc. – it's in revelation, the sure word of God to you. Apply the principles of the word to yourself practically and consult the word before making decisions or taking actions.

Finally, pay attention to those things that contend with the word in your life to defeat them. They could be culture, mindsets and emotions, tradition and bounded rationality. Armed with the sure word of God victory is guaranteed!

CHILDREN OF DESTINY

Exodus 2:1-2

Different researches on the effect upbringing has on the life of an individual have shown that poverty and family background have a major impact on the lives of individuals and that the social status of parents influence the way the children are raised.

In his book, Outliers, Malcolm Gladwell relates the story of a research carried out by a professor of psychology, Lewis Terman in 1921, on 250,000 children out of which he selected 1, 470 children who he considered to have the highest IQ levels. He spent decades observing them, and by the time they became adults, he gathered information on 730 of them.

He noticed that not all of the children fared well. The most significant outcome of his research was that all the kids who did well came from middle - income/rich families, and those who didn't fare well came from poor families. Therefore, he concluded that, it's the status of an individual's family, and not IQ levels, that made the greatest impact on the outcome of that individual.

Another researcher, Annette Lareau, an educational sociologist, focused on parenting in the USA. She believed that the temperaments of parents made the difference in their style of parenting. Together with her team, they studied families of different races and social status by participating in their everyday lives.

They noticed the difference between the way parents who belonged to the middle-income/rich class and the way parents from the low-income/poor class raised their children. The middle-income/rich parents raised their children to be bold, confident and to participate in extra-curricular activities in school.

The low-income/poor parents on the other hand did not do much to boost their children self-confidence. Their children invented games in the neighborhood. Their conclusion, therefore, was that it is class and not race that has a greater impact on the development and outcome of the life of a child.

In Nigeria, our concept of leadership which encourages the cliche that "children should be seen and not heard", has negatively affected the children and they are growing without self-esteem not the confidence to speak boldly. Also, the prevalent poverty is not helping matters.

The following tips will help:

SALVATION AND SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENT - Children must, as a matter of urgency, be led to Christ, in order to get a healthy identity in God.

EDUCATION - Parents must make sacrifices to send their children to school. The church also must contribute.

COMMUNITY - We should be good mentors for children, expose them to the correct type of association, and give the less privileged the opportunity to develop in the right atmosphere...Pastor Sam Adeyemi

Marriage is a Covenant

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 92px; height: 123px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_eFyO8t3F2ZE/SkK7uj3G3kI/AAAAAAAAAas/AaNKJ7Q85_Q/s400/sa.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5351045715844324930" />

A covenant is an agreement between two or more people. There are different types of covenants – blood, peace covenants. A blood covenant is the highest form of agreement to God and man.

Marriage falls under the category of a blood covenant, that is why a girl must marry as a virgin because on the first day of sexual intercourse, a covenant is cut with the shedding of blood when the hymen is broken. Interestingly, marriage is a covenant between three – man, woman and God.

Marriage nowadays, is a caricature of what God designed. The rate of separation and divorce, even in church, is at an all time high. People get divorced for mundane reasons e.g. cooking, snoring, physical appearance etc.

This is because human beings are always innovating, designing and changing systems in pursuit of utopia. In Matthew 19.3-10, when Jesus was questioned about divorce, He explained that divorce was never God’s original plan, Moses permitted the people to divorce, he gave this adjustment to suit the hardness of their hearts. Marriage is a covenant that MUST NOT be broken. We should not bend God’s rules to suit ourselves. Sexual intercourse should be exclusive to marriage only.

Apart from physical activity, sex is an interaction of spirits, therefore every human being is designed to have sex with one person for a life time. To do otherwise is to break the covenant and breaking covenants brings on curses. Marriage amplifies our fears and insecurities.

The challenge for us is to develop character to keep our marital vows in the face of adversity. The first thing to do is acceptance, we must accept and love ourselves unconditionally and be willing to give and forgive. Let’s always remember to ask God for help when we are weak. God’s word stands forever, He will not vary His standards to suit our whims and caprices. It’s important to take the time to search the scriptures and understand our responsibilities towards God regarding marriage.

A final word for the singles – begin to test your capacity for integrity before considering marriage. Do not overlook critical warning signals before getting married. A little adjustment in our thinking will make a world of difference for “as a man thinketh...” Pastor Sam Adeyemi

Prospering in the recession

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 92px; height: 123px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_eFyO8t3F2ZE/ShXXAWrfMkI/AAAAAAAAAVk/6fX7xS3Omi8/s400/sam+adeyemi.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5338409334405542466" />

1 Kings 17 vs 1 - 7

Changing times require changes in people but many of us are stuck in our old selves and old mindsets most human beings find it difficult to reinvent themselves. However, for you to do what you have never done before or overcome challenges you have never overcome before, you must become someone you have never been before.

Two main key to prospering in hard times are; Divine Direction and the Willingness to Change. In 1 Kings 17 vs 1-7, God gave Elijah a divine direction, he obeyed God and he was willing to change. We too, must be willing to move with the Holy Spirit in order to break free from the fear of poverty, lack, etc.

We must, also, be sensitive to God's prophets. God sends prophet not because we do not have the Holy Spirit but because what the prophet say is meant to stare up the grace of God upon outlives. It's still is our responsibility to hear from God personally. It takes a prophet to move our mindsets beyond the barriers set by past experiences and old traditions. It took the arrival of Elijah for the mindset of the widow to change from scarcity and death to abundance and life. 1 kings 17 vs 8 - God usually will send a prophet to challenge you to break barriers for the present you to die and a new you to evolve. John 12 vs 24.

God is re-organizing things. many people are afraid, but this is the time to take risks based on prophetic instruction, insight and foresight. when natural resources deplete, it is the time to maintain a connection with God's resources because His resources can never run out. If earthly principles seem to be failing, let us activate the principles of God and apply his system, give your material resources to provoke heavens resources. 1 King 17 vs 13-16.

This recession is for our increase - there is a place called THERE for us and God will use unusual sources to meet our needs this season. Matt.1:21, NKJV. TUBERCULOSIS WAS killing 23-year-old Eleanor Munro. Physicians had tried everything and give up hope. Her husband had TB when he returned from overseas after world War ll, but before it was detected and having no immunity against the disease, she caught it. It lodged in an almost impossible place to treat-the lower lobe of her lung.

The only treatment was for the TB cavity to be forced shut so nature could have a chance to heal it by letting the sides grow together. If it had been in the upper lobe, ribs could have been removed to collapse the lobe, but her body needed the lower ribs for support. They considered removing the lung, but Eleanor was too sick to withstand surgery.

When Dr. MacDougall told Eleanor that there was nothing more they could do, she extracted a promise that if she were alive on Christmas Eve, she be allowed to go home. He promised, but only because he was sure she would be dead by them. But she wasn’t so with warning to not hold her child and to wear a surgical mask, she was taken home by ambulance. She came back to the hospital the following night, and her health continued to slip until she could no longer feed herself. But she refused to die.

Toward the end of February, she was down to 80 pounds when new complications set in. she became nauseated and began to vomit, even without food in her stomach. After examining her, a specialist asked if she could be pregnant. Impossible! How could her dying body have conceived? How could it support another life? But the test was positive. Aborting the child wasn’t an option; she was so weak the procedure could have killed her. Then an amazing thing happened: she began to get better. By late March, her temperature was coming down.

A chest x-ray showed that the growth of the TB cavity had stopped; her diaphragm was pushing up against lower lobe of her diseased lung to make room for the growing child. The child was saving the mother! What science couldn’t do, God did through the miracle of a child! The greatest miracle of all is ours through another Baby, God’s son Thank you, Jesus.

Based on the article "Christmas Miracle” by Dr. Joseph A. MacDougall, As told to Douglas How, reprinted in Woman of spirit, December 1999.

Yes You Can

Forty years ago, there lived a preacher and civil rights activist named Martin Luther King (Jnr). He stirred the hearts of people everywhere with his I-have-a-dream speech. He dreamed of a world where men would not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character; where people, irrespective of gender, race or religion would have the equal right to lead. At the time, his dreams seemed far-fetched; many couldn't conceive it but his dream lived on.

He was only two years old when King shared his dream with the world. He didn't know it then but he was the fulfillment of that dream. From a remote part of the world, raised by a single mum and later by his grandmother, he understood the challenges of racial discrimination first hand; he knew what it was to be disadvantaged because of the color of his skin, the pains of growing up in poverty and lack, and the struggle to stand out in the world with the odds stacked against him. Still, like King, he dreamed.

He dreamed that he would one day lead the world's greatest nation; that he would transcend the racial divide, conquer the steep and biased political terrain and overcome tremendous obstacles to become an icon of hope to his world. And against all odds, he prevailed.

On the fourth of November 2008, Barack Obama made history as the first African-American President of the United States.

America's 44th president, Obama is the ultimate embodiment of not just the American dream but the ideal that guides success and achievement in life - IF YOU CAN CONCEIVE IT, YOU CAN ACHIEVE IT.

Yes, you can!

THE CLEANSING BLOOD

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 180px; height: 180px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_eFyO8t3F2ZE/SQJT0U8l38I/AAAAAAAAAT0/WNI538wp100/s400/cleansing_blood.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5260859473163313090" />

One night in a church service, a young woman felt the tug of God at her heart. She responded to God's call and accepted Jesus as her Lord and Saviour. The young woman had a rough past, fraught with alcohol, drugs and prostitution, but the change in her was evident. As time went on, she became a faithful member of the church, involved in the ministry-teaching young children.

It was not very long before this faithful young woman caught the eye and heart of the pastor's son. Their relationship grew and they began to make wedding plans. This is when the problem began. You see, about one half of the church did not thing that a woman with a past such as hers was suitable for a pastor's son.

The church began to argue and fight over the matter. So they decided to have a meeting. As the people made their arguments, tempers flared and tension increased, the meeting was getting completely out of hand. The young woman got very upset about all the things being brought up about her past. As she began to cry, the pastor's son stood up to speak. He could not bear the pain it was causing his wife to be.

He began to speal and his statement was this:"My fiancee's past is not what is on trial here, what you are questioninig here, is the ability of the Blood of Jesus to wash away sin. Today you have put the blood of Jesus on trial. So, does it wash away sin or not?" The whole church began to week as they realized that they had been slandering the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Too often, even as Christians, we bring up the past and use it as a weapon against our brothers and sisters. Forgiveness is a very foundational part of the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. If the blood of Jesus does not cleanse the other person completely then it cannot cleanse us completely. If that is the case, then we are all in a lot of trouble. What can was away our sins? Nothing but the blood of Jesus!!!

Affiliates

Success Power International
This outstanding motivational outfit was inaugurated in 1995. I would be sharing with you messages from Daystar Christian Center and other evennts.

Daystar: The Church
A Brand New Daystar! A Brand New Structure!

At Daystar Christian Centre, the most recurrent word is change. Timely and inspired change is the mark of a healthy church that is alive to the directive of the Holy Spirit. Daystar has evolved over the years, passing through series of changes required for more effective church ministry and by implication a greater impact on the larger society.

In this vein the church has been restructured to function in line with its core purposes which are: membership, maturity, evangelism and mission, ministry and worship. The directorates of Daystar Christian Centre are now constituted of the aforementioned in addition to the Junior Church and Administration. The Seven Directorates of Daystar Christian Centre are now:

Membership Team: Saddled with the responsibility of C.A.R.E (Contact, Assist, Relate and Encourage members of the church)

Maturity Team: Coordinates all activities aimed at maturing the saints in the church.

Evangelism and Missions Team : Coordinates all activities aimed at winning new members into the fellowship system of the church.

Ministry Team: oversees all specialized ministries and outreaches of the church.

Worship Team: supplies music and worship for all major services and encourages every member to have a personal fellowship with God.

Junior Church: Coordinates all activities of the Junior Church.

Administration: Ensures the smooth running of the church office and other para-ministry activities.

Before now, the directorates were: Pastoral Care, Family Life, Education, Administration, and Junior Church. This restructuring is aimed at ensuring that every point the church stays focused on its five core purposes. The inclusion of the directorates of Junior Church and Administration becomes pertinent owing to their strategic functionality to the church ministry.

Welcome to the brand new Daystar!
