Creating the Future

Human systems of government - economic, social and political - will always reflect the flaws in man's fallen nature. Man has tried but failed at evolving a perfect system of government, even the religious systems are faulty. In our opening scripture, Jesus is describing how the kingdom of God or God's government influences our lives. God's government runs at the highest intelligence frequency. It is driven by the highest form of power which is by far superior to any man made system therefore it cannot fail. When Jesus came, He preached “Repent”, that is, do a “round about turn” from the world's way of doing things and live according to God's system of government.

Jesus used several parables to paint a clear picture of the kingdom of God. Running through all these parables is the keyword SEED. The seed is the major difference between God's kingdom and the statutes of man. Man has not and cannot successfully manufacture the seed. Every seed has in it the picture of the future; the DNA coding. The seed is a conversion point for intangible realities to become tangible. The seed controls the future, so anyone who has seeds today is the one holding the future. For example God put every human being (apart from Jesus) into the first man and named him Adam, meaning mankind.

Explaining the parable of the Sower, Jesus said the seed is the word of God which is planted in the soil of our hearts as information/revelation. Nobody has the power to cause a seed to germinate; God has already put that power in existence. The heart is the soil on which revelation grows, therefore guard the information seeds sown into your heart with all diligence, cultivating them until they bear fruits. How then do we get revelation? To access revelation we must pray, meditate on the word of God, listen to our prophets and give.

In summary, for us to create and live in the future God has designed for us, let us leverage on the power in the seed... Pastor Sam Adeyemi

We are the Government

John 5:8, proverb 25:28

God is omniscient and omnipotent, He knows everything and can do everything but God will not do for you what He has given you power to do for yourself. Where your ability stops is where God's ability begins but He will not do for you what you have the capacity to do. God made us in His image and deposited gifts and different abilities in us. He will not frustrate our potentials by doing for us what we can do for ourselves. In our country, we ask God to do lots of things for us, for example, build roads, generate power etc. God will not respond to these demands because He has provided for us water and gas to generate power and bitumen to build roads.

This state of mind of being helpless and transferring our responsibilities influences our attitude to government. The government is expected to do everything, but the reality is that the government cannot do everything the government cannot eat, breathe, sleep or write exams for us and even when roads are provided, the government will not drive our cars for us. It's our responsibility to do the most important things ourselves. Our inability to define clear lines of responsibility renders us helpless and powerless. Also the abdication of responsibility turns people into slaves.

The time has come for us, as Nigerians and Christians, to make a choice to believe that God has empowered us to fulfill destiny. The change will begin with having a God given revelation of who you are. We have more power than we realize and we can only receive this power through the truth found in God's words. As soon as we begin to see ourselves in the light of God's word, we develop a positive self image which influences our self esteem-making us feel good about ourselves. Self respect follows-we no longer tolerate low standards. Then self determination kicks in followed by self actualization.

Take the power God has given you! The only thing that can hold you down is ignorance. “My people perish for lack of knowledge”. Get an education. The key that unlocks the power embedded in us is self discipline. It takes discipline to move ahead. Read and develop plans to move forward. Set goals and act on them. Be persistent and become a problem solver. Associate with other people to create solutions for societal problems.

Let's cooperate to build a prosperous nation!.. Pastor Sam Adeyemi

The Word Works

"The word of God may not make sense all of the time, but it makes Spirit" – Pastor Godman Akinlabi.

The word of God is the most powerful resource a person can possess. The Christian faith is founded in the written word of God and it abides forever. In the early days, the Bible was the exclusive preserve of the clergy but thanks to several protests by the Protestants, the bible is now available for everybody to access. The bible should be used as a manual for living. In MATT 4:4, Jesus teaches that man must not live by bread alone rather man must depend on the word of God for existence. We ought to feed our spirit even better than we nourish our physical bodies.

Here in Daystar, the Word Works Wonders is not an advertising cliché; it's the core of our church. To maximize the power in the word of God, we have to pay attention to the word, give it first place and accept it as the final authority in our lives. Anything short of that then we are just playing church and soon enough the evidence of an ailing spirit, a spirit starved of the word of God, will manifest as sickness and lack in the physical. The word of God feeds, strengthens and empowers our spirit to overcome the wiles of the devil.

Get a firm grip on the word of God. His word is powerful, prophetic and carries creative ability. It is the surest foundation for life. There is no future in anything – jobs, relationships, location etc. – it's in revelation, the sure word of God to you. Apply the principles of the word to yourself practically and consult the word before making decisions or taking actions.

Finally, pay attention to those things that contend with the word in your life to defeat them. They could be culture, mindsets and emotions, tradition and bounded rationality. Armed with the sure word of God victory is guaranteed!
